When you asked me for a testimonial with regards to selling lawn seed products at my store it was an eye opener. I have been selling Lawn Seed products for the last 5-years and hadn't really taken a good look at how much I was selling. For the numbers as of July 2006 I have sold over $ 10,000.00 in Seed. Overall, having the lawn seed has added approximately $ 6,000.00 to my bottom line so far this year with the fall planting season still to come. Space for the lawn seed is allocated to a display next to the counter, which takes up about 6-feet, and includes the lawn care tip sheets. I have hung a banner on my fence, which offers good viewing to passing traffic, and I put the lawn tip sheet counter pad on my front counter, this helps as a reminder to customers and my staff that we have the lawn seed available. We also set under cover outside in our entry area 1-pallet of Mulch and fertilizer. Overall, the H&H Lawn Seed packaging is easy to work with and looks great.

With your assistance; all of my staff are trained, and when a customer comes in to rent a Tiller, Thatcher, Aerator or Sod Cutter; we let them know we also sell Lawn Seed. It turns a $ 40.00 lawn equipment rental into a $100.00 or more ticket, I like that!

We have become better informed for our do-it yourself lawn customers, which has helped increased my lawn and garden rentals over the past 5-years by around 40% with very little effort at the counter, as it is an easy up-sell. If you think about it what are people doing when they rent your Aerator, Thatcher, Tiller or Sod Cutter? They are re-doing their lawns, so they might as well buy the grass seed from us too!
